Michell rises for 'Morning' at Paramount

Roger Michell is set to direct "Morning Glory" for Paramount, a comedy that J.J. Abrams is producing. Aline Brosh McKenna, who wrote "The Devil Wears Prada," penned the screenplay, which centers on the world of morning news. Set in New York, the story focuses on a struggling female news producer and the iconic, temperamental anchorman she recruits to revive a failing network morning show. Bryan Burk and Sherryl Clark are executive producing the project, which is yet to be cast. Michell's credits include "Venus" and "Notting Hill." He is repped by CAA, Independent Talent Group in the U.K., and attorneys Barry Hirsch and Bob Wallerstein.
